As The Hive Youth Zone moves towards its 100 day countdown to opening, the young people of Wirral have been given a huge boost with the news that West Wallasey Car Hire Limited has signed up as a founder patron.
Wirral Youth Zone, which will open in April 2017, will offer a multitude of activities and services and this amazing support will help raise the aspirations, improve the health and well-being and enhance the prospects of an anticipated membership of over 3,000 young people across Wirral.
West Wallasey Car Hire was launched by the present Managing Director and Operations Director in 1974, specialising in the service and repair of commercial vehicles and cars. Three years later West Wallasey entered the commercial vehicle hire market, focusing on the corporate and local authority markets. West Wallasey currently operates a fleet of over 12,000 cars and light commercial vehicles from a single facility in Wirral.
And now, West Wallasey, who has become the 16th founder patron, is driving the Wirral Youth Zone project forward.
Director, Paul Kenny said: As a well established local company, West Wallasey is keen to support and invest in the community in which we work, particularly young people who will be the future employees, customers and leaders of local businesses. We are pleased to be able to provide support for The Hive and look forward to being a part of the journey, both for the charity and the young people”
Stuart Barnes, Chief Executive of Wirral Youth Zone said: “I am extremely grateful and more than delighted that such a well known and respected local company, West Wallasey has chosen to support the work of The Hive. Once open the Youth Zone will make a difference to thousands of young people, something we can only do with the support of local businesses and individuals. All the team are very much looking forward to working with West Wallasey over the coming months and years.”
The Hive will cost £1million per year to run and this will be through a combination of public sector and private sector funding. Over the coming months, 50% of the running costs will be secured through the local business community. Businesses of all sizes and sectors have signed up already and are keen to contribute to shape the future of the borough’s young people.
Becoming a Founder Patron of The Hive is a chance for the local businesses and philanthropists to make the difference to the lives of young people and the future of a prospering region. Their support and endorsement of the project will lead the way to encourage others to invest in the future of the city’s young people.
