Our Founder Patron’s, Urenco UK, recently visited Wigan Youth Zone – one of OnSide’s network of Youth Zones – to deliver their “Tech Challenge” – a challenge designed to develop young people’s leadership and teamwork skills.

Urenco worked hard behind the scenes to plan a group of activities for the members of Wigan Youth Zone. Four groups of young people took part in teamwork exercises with the group working well together, showing excellent leadership skills along the way.

Other challenges included scientific elements, a Pipe Work Challenge and even a task to create an erupting volcano!

The winning teams each won a £20 shopping voucher with fun had by all.

General Manager of Wirral Youth Zone, Stuart Barnes said: “The whole evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I want to pay a huge thank you to the team of staff from Urenco for putting together the activities and donating all the equipment to Wigan Youth Zone, meaning they can run similar activities again. We are also looking forward to hosting our own similar events at The Hive!”

Becoming a Founder Patron of The Hive is a chance for the local businesses and philanthropists to create a legacy for the future of Wirral. Their support and endorsement of the project will serve to encourage others to invest in the future of Wirral’s young people.
