On Saturday 8th April we opened our doors for the first time and welcomed young people from across Wirral with a mission to provide ‘Somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to’ – just four months later we are so proud to have over 5000 members – exceeding our membership target of recruiting 3000 young people in our first year.
The success of the Youth Zone is testament to the hard work of The Hive team, the support and input of Wirral’s young people – and an army of over 90 volunteers who ensure that a full programme of activities are available for members.
Head of Youth Work at The Hive, Adam Mellor said: “We are so proud that The Hive has reached 5000 members so soon after opening. The team here work tirelessly to offer a fantastic and diverse range of activities for Wirral’s young people, and reaching this milestone reflects that. Our members are the heart of The Hive, and in the last four months we’ve really seen them make the Youth Zone their own’’.
