Holiday Club Support Youth Worker

From £7.83 to £9.00 per hour (dependant on experience)

Various hours required during School Holidays from 8am until 6pm in the evening.

A unique opportunity has arisen for Youth Workers experienced with Junior aged young people (8-12) to help create the best Holiday Club offer to young people at Wirral Youth Zone. We are a charity with a state-of-the-art building offering a wide range of activities and targeted services for young people.

Attracting young people from across the Borough and beyond through its fantastic facilities, the Youth Zone is a registered charity and will provide positive activities and practical support, with the aim of enabling young people to make constructive use of their leisure time and raise their aspirations. The Youth Zone is open seven nights a week, at weekends and during school holidays.

The Role

Youth Work is at the heart of The Hive’s offer to young people. The Hive’s Youth Work team are key to supporting all young people to reach their full potential as well proving young people someone to talk to and encouraging young people to engage, on their own terms, with the wider offer and programme at The Hive. You will be responsible for making sure all young people are welcomed into The Hive, delivering a programme full of exciting opportunities, and challenges leading to informal education and issue base workshops.

This role involves:

• Running Cooking and Baking sessions with young people
• Running Sports, Arts and Recreational games with young people
• Being a general caring and pro-active team member who strives for every session to be better than the last.

We are looking for flexible and creative members of the Youth Work Team to ensure we have the best possible offer to young people.

All successful candidates must be available for Interview on 14th or 15th April 2018 and must attend training sessions on 12th/13th May and 19th/20th May 2018 (10am – 4pm)

Youth Worker Role Profile – March 2018

Climbing Youth Worker (Sports team)
From £7.83 to £9.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

A unique opportunity for an experienced climbing youth worker experienced with young people to help enhance sports offer to young people at Wirral Youth Zone. We are a charity with a state-of-the-art building offering a wide range of activities and targeted services for young people.

Attracting young people from across the borough and beyond through its fantastic facilities, the Youth Zone is a registered charity and will provide positive activities and practical support, with the aim of enabling young people to make constructive use of their leisure time and raise their aspirations. The Youth Zone is open seven nights a week, at weekends and during school holidays.

The Role

The Hive is looking for an Indoor Climbing Wall Youth Worker to join the Sports Team. As a member of The Hive’s Sports Team you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting sport programme activity programme people that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental. You will be involved in teaching the fundamentals of Indoor Climbing including leading small groups in our onsite climbing wall.

A successful candidate will hold the Climbing Wall Award (CWA).

We are looking for someone who can:

• Work directly with children and young people to plan, lead and deliver safe, fun and structured climbing sessions within the Youth Zone which are progressive and reflect the needs of young people
• With support from the Sports Coordinator ensure the safe running of the Indoor Climbing wall including completing and recording all routine safety checks
• Confidently manage and establish positive relationships with groups of children and young people with children and young people
• Complete all monitoring information required for impact measures, to encourage feedback from young people taking part in activities, and share this with the staff team regularly
• Work with young people from a range of backgrounds and with a range of needs.
• To promote cultural cohesion and inclusion and proactively challenge any prejudice and discrimination
